Short rows add the swing without increasing or decreasing.

1. To work a short-row wrap and turn (w & t) on the knit side, knit to the designated stitch before the turning. With the yarn at the back, slip the next stitch purlwise. Move the yarn between the needles to the front and slip the same stitch back to the left-hand needle as shown. 2. Turn the work and bring the yarn to the purl side between the needles. One stitch is wrapped (shown on the right side).
3. When short rows are completed, work to just before the wrapped stitch, insert the right-hand needle under the wrap and knitwise into the wrapped stitch on left-hand needle as shown and knit these two stitches together. 4. To work a short-row wrap and turn (w & t) on the purl side, purl to the designated stitch before the turning. With the yarn in the front, slip the next stitch on the left-hand needle purlwise as shown.
5. Move the yarn between the needles to the back of the work and slip the same stitch back to the left-hand needle as shown. Turn the work and bring the yarn back to the purl side between the needles. One stitch is wrapped. 6. When short rows are completed, work to just before the wrapped stitch, insert the right-hand needle from behind into the back loop of the wrap, as shown, and place it on the left-hand needle; purl the wrap together with the stitch on the needle.
