| Motley, yes;
foolish, no way. Shiri Mor’s intarsia
patchwork dress form-fits cleverly via interior
decreases that sub in for traditional side-seam
decreases. The mosaiclike blocks come from
six vibrant hues of the clingy “Baby
Boo” from Knit One, Crochet Too. |

When changing colors in intarsia, bring
the new color (blue, in our photo) from
under the previous color (pink), as shown,
then work the next stitch. |

If you do not twist the strands around each
other as in Photo 1, gaps will form in the
knitted fabric, as shown here. |

Once the pieces are knit, bury the loose
ends by using a yarn needle to weave the
ends through several purl bumps on the wrong
side of the knitting, as shown. |

To weave in ends while you knit, *bring
short ends to front of work, knit next st,
then bring them to back and knit next st,
taking care to keep the ends under the working
yarn. Repeat from the *. |
